Fitness for Over 65's

At The Wellwoman Fitness Foundation we can always help you whatever your age or abililty! Sara teaches her Pilates exercises in Retirement Homes and also for those in residential care. Gentle exercises and the ability to keep the body moving is absolutely essential whatever your condition or level of fitness and Sara makes sure that exercises are modified to suit the needs of the individual person.
For those able-bodied individuals not in retirement homes you can join one of Sara's regular classes! See timetable...
What's involved in the classes?
The session will consist of some standing and mainly chair-based exercises (it's amazing how many exercises you can do on a chair!). Exercises are modified to suit you and your needs (exercises can be provided for those in wheelchairs or those who have had strokes and other conditions).
Classes will be 30-45 minutes long depending on requirement and will use small equipment such as exercise balls or flexibands.
What are the key benefits?
Helps keeps the whole body strong and mobile.
Uses a breathing technique to help maintain lung capacity.
Helps conditions such as osteoporosis as bone strength is maintained.
It's sociable and nice way to meet others.
